The locking trigger jams and eventually breaks, and it's difficult to find a replacement (DON"T order a bowl listed as simply a DLC 2014 bowl -- despite what vendors say, it won't match the lid.). Cuisinart has known about this problem for years, but hasn't addressed it. I picked this one up at the still pricey but much better price of about $150 on an amazon special. I was a little concerned from the 3 star review, but decided to take a chance. So far it has met or exceeded all my expectations.We have sliced vegetables, fruit, leftover steak (!) for steak sandwiches, and made bread dough. It handled everything thus far with aplomb. The motor is perky and powerful, and we have not had a problem at this time with the container. Cleanup is great--very easy to do, and we have been finding a reason to use this for almost every dinner since we got it. This weekend, I'm planning on making hummus and salsa, so I'll use it some more. My biggest happiness is with the dough setting. We love to bake, and we will be using this a lot for mixing up dough. I was batch-processing chicken and other meats in a four cup processor, but I could only make enough food for a day or two. This bowl is fourteen cups, which is very large, and the feed tube is wide, so whole boned thighs, or other foods can be dumped in easily.There have been issues over the past decades with Cuisinarts since the company was sold and the manufacture went overseas. I had a bowl crack at the lug holes (where it fits over the base.) And I had a dough blade bind to the shaft due to overheating. The customer service however had been good. Since I have no issues so far with this unit, I can't complain, but I am being gentle with the bowl, as the plastic feels thinner in gauge than my older unit bowl.
